Under Thai law, in a criminal case, a lawyer is allowed to be present during the interrogation of the accused by the police officer.
However, the lawyer is not permitted to provide advice during the interrogation.
In practice, minimal guidance may be allowed for clarification purposes at the discretion of the investigating police officer.
